Rise Christian Academy (formerly Cedar Road Christian Academy) began in 1980 as a ministry of Cedar Road Assembly of God. The founding pastor of the church, Rev. Howard Schmidt, was responsible for the initial vision for a school. CRCA was founded to serve a growing need for Christian education and child care in the Great Bridge area. Under the guidance of retired Senior Pastor, Rev. Ben Bonnici, Cedar Road Christian Academy grew from a small volunteer-based day care to a highly respected educational institution in the Great Bridge community.
The Academy now functions under the guidance of Rev. Tim Campbell, School Administrator and Senior Pastor of Rise Church. Part of the vision of Rise Church is to serve our community and leave a legacy for the next generation. Rise Christian Academy functions to fulfill this vision and to bring quality Christian education to our community. In 2021, the school's name Cedar Road Christian Academy was officially changed to Rise Christian Academy in order to continue moving forward and fulfilling this vision together as a school and church.
Our RCA Director is Mrs. Scherrie Mills. She has been an educator for 24 years. As well as, the 3rd, 4th and 5th Grade Teacher at RCA for over 12 years. She accepted the position of Academy Director in October 2020. She loves kids, has a heart for RCA and Christian Education and supports the vision of Rise Church to serve our community and leave a legacy for the next generation.
We are also blessed with an outstanding staff of educated, experienced and caring preschool teachers, elementary teachers and administrative personnel who are committed to educating and serving children and families.
